Your path to recovery starts with a single call

Getting Started

If you are reading this, you have already done the hardest part — you are considering change. We know how much courage that takes, and we promise the next step is gentler than you fear. One phone call, no judgment, no pressure. Just a real conversation about what you are facing and how we can help.

When you reach our Turlock team, a coordinator will listen, walk you through a confidential assessment, and verify your insurance — often the same day. If Luxury Addiction Treatment is the right fit, we will coordinate everything for your arrival. And if a different level of care suits you better, we will tell you honestly and help you find it. You are never just a phone number to us.

What to Bring

Packing should be the least of your worries, so we keep it simple. Here is what we recommend bringing to Luxury Addiction Treatment:

  • Valid photo identification and your insurance card
  • A list of current medications, or the medications themselves in their original containers
  • Comfortable, casual clothing for 7 to 10 days, including layers for cool evenings
  • Swimwear for the heated therapy pool and athletic shoes for yoga and garden walks
  • Toiletries that do not list alcohol as an ingredient
  • A small amount of cash for incidentals
  • Photos or small comfort items that remind you why you are here

Please leave at home: alcohol, drugs or paraphernalia, weapons, and valuables. Cell phone use is permitted during limited hours, and family visits are scheduled on weekends. Please note that we are unable to allow pets on the campus.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will I be in treatment?

It depends on you, and that is the honest answer. Medical detox usually takes 3 to 7 days, residential treatment runs 30 to 90 days, and outpatient care spans 2 to 12 weeks. Rather than slot you into a fixed package, your clinical team recommends a length based on what you actually need — and adjusts as you progress.

I'm scared to start. Is that normal?

Completely normal — almost everyone who walks through our doors felt exactly that way. Fear of the unknown, of judgment, of failing again. What patients tell us afterward is that the fear faded faster than they expected once they felt genuinely cared for. You do not have to feel ready or brave. You just have to make the call.

Is detox medically supervised?

Yes, always. Detox here happens under 24/7 physician and nursing care, and we use medication-assisted treatment when it helps to ease withdrawal. Withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, and benzodiazepines can be medically risky, so you are never left to go through it alone.

What if I'm dealing with more than just addiction?

You are in the right place. Many of the people we treat are managing a co-occurring condition like PTSD, depression, or anxiety alongside their substance use. Our dual diagnosis program treats both together, in one coordinated plan — because addressing one without the other rarely works for long.

What insurance do you take?

We work with most major carriers, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Magellan, Ambetter, MultiPlan, and First Health Network, and we accept Medicare and Medicaid. If you are not sure about your plan, just call us and we will verify your benefits for you — usually the same day.

Can my family be part of this?

Absolutely, and we hope they will be. Family involvement is one of the strongest predictors of lasting recovery, so we offer family systems therapy and host visits on weekends at our Family Lodge. Healing the relationships around you is part of healing you.

Can I bring my phone?

Yes, with some structure. Phone use is allowed during limited, designated hours. It is not about cutting you off — it is about protecting the calm, focused space that makes the early days of recovery work, for you and for everyone around you.
